The Balwadi programme is an integral part of TSRS and CAS initiatives at TSRS. Every year the students of the IBDP host a fun day for the Balwadi students for which they organize a fund raiser. Last year our batch of IB1 had organized a FUN NIGHT fundraiser!!
Oh! What a grand success it was! Our students outdid themselves and exceeded all expectations. The goals for the event was simple- raise enough money to create the most spectacular and entertaining day for the Balwadi children who rarely get to enjoy such a fun-filled day. The students of IB1 after a lot of deliberation and planning, delivered an evening where they showed three movies simultaneously and sold a variety of food like like popcorn, nachos, pizzas, pastas, cola drinks, and ice-tea. Every last detail was planned and executed by our students because they were determined to make it a success. The school was buzzing with students from grades 9-12 hanging out with their friends, watching movies and munching on some great food. It was a memorable event which the students of TSRS will remember for years to come.
“… I helped with the non-organisational things such as decorations and counting money. I also worked on the stall that sold chips and popcorn with my friend on movie night. It was really fun convincing people to buy the food and work out various deals. It was an overall success and we were able to raise a lot of money for the Balwadi Fun day.”
Ananyaa Gupta, IB2C
“… Reflecting back, my experiences as a member of the core team lead me to understand that working at maximum potential can often urge people to do the same. I felt that in places, my energy allowed other people also to do their roles in a smarter way. Also, we tripled the goal we were meant to reach. Me, and the other members, of the core team, considered that our most significant win.”
Rhea Mehta, IB2A
“… I loved every second of it. Nothing went wrong and it made me realize that I really like planning events like these and made me realize how important it is to work as a team towards something we all want to achieve. It was one of the most successful events the school has ever seen and the best thing about it was that we collected more than enough to throw a great ‘fun day’ for the Balwadi children.”
