The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. At TEDx events, a screening of TED Talks videos — or a combination of live presenters and TED Talks videos — sparks deep conversation and connections at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.
On the 3rd of November 2017, we held our own TEDx event, at TSRS Moulsari, with the theme leaders of change. Six icons from various industries, such as technology, news, and even adventure sports, gave inspiring and insightful speeches to a captivated audience, of students, parents and teachers, from all campuses of the Shri Ram Schools.
Among the guests, were Ajit Bajaj, padmashri winner, adventurer, and explorer, Deep Kalra, founder and CEO of MakeMyTrip, and Mehak Sagar, an alumni of our school, who has founded a wedding planning startup, called WedMeGood. Listening to the wisdom of these experienced individuals helps give us a more profound understanding of what things are like in today’s professional work environment. The TEDx event gave us an opportunity to benefit from the knowledge of these famed leaders. Overall, events such as this help us gain a much more holistic education, in conjunction with the IB program, and they truly prepare us for our lives.
What is TED?
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas in the form of short, powerful talks. It began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers a variety of topics from science to business, and global issues. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx, an independently organized TED event, is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-like experience; one in which the speakers spark deep discussions and connections in small groups. These local, self-organized Youth events are one of our most creative TEDx event types, organized by, and catered towards kids.
