Vihaan Agarwal and Nav Agarwal, recipients of The International Children’s Peace Prize 2021!
Vihaan Agarwal of IB 12 and his brother Nav Agarwal from IGCSE, founded the youth organisation – One Step Greener in 2018. The first initiative of the organisation was segregating rubbish and organising waste pickup drives. From just 15 homes, One Step Greener is now a city-wide operation collecting rubbish from more than 1,000 households, schools, and offices, and has recycled 173,630 kilograms of waste. The entrepreneurial brothers often devote 4-5 hours per day to the organisation and are working to bring their sustainability message to children across India.
Their work has been highly commended and acknowledged by the Expert Committee of Kids Rights and were awarded the 17th annual International Children’s Peace Prize. The award ceremony held at The Hall of Knights in the Parliament at The Hague, Netherlands on the 13th of November declared Vihaan Agarwal and Nav Agarwal as Laureates. They are the second Indians to receive this recognition and were conferred their award by Nobel Laureate Shri Kailash Satyarthi ji.
